Avoid Tickets Without Drilling Your Bumper
The Fiat Platypus utilizes existing mounting points on the underside of your car, so you do not have to drill any holes in your new car. This method of installing the front plate is common and legal in all states that require front license plates. At times when the plate is not needed, it can be removed easily, leaving no trace that it was ever there.
Fits Right and Will Not Alarm Your PDC Sensors
We have designed and tested hundreds of configurations on many current vehicle models and trim levels, this is not a one size fits all system. The model for your vehicle will sit tight to the bumper so that is looks like it was meant to be there, and it will also avoid setting off the sensors on your bumper (if you are having a sensor issue, troubleshoot it or contact us and we will resolve it!) Although it will sit close, the sturdy plate backing will not scratch your bumper no matter how you drive.
Tough Construction and Rigid Design, Made in the USA
The 1/8th inch 11 gauge aluminum plate bracket is laser cut to ensure a precision fit of your license plate. It has a black powdercoat baked on that will last forever. The mount installs in minutes, all you have to do is take two screws out from the under-side of the bumper, put the Platypus in place, and replace the screws. The Platypus rests against the lower bumper on a rubber foot that keeps your car from getting scratched. Once in place, you can use the supplied hardware to attach your license plate to The Platypus. The button head hardware is stainless steel, and uses an allen key to discourage theft. The hardware provided is the exact right length for your plate and will not stick through the back to scratch your bumper, if you would like to install a plate frame you will need a longer set of hardware for $1 here.
Fiat 500L/X Alternate Design
The Fiat 500L and 500X use our traditional tow hook license plate mount. This utilizes the towing eye receiver in the front bumper. It consists of a large Aluminum stud that screws into the bumper, and a back plate that mounts to the stud.

Took me less than five minutes to install. Looks fantastic. Customer support in placing my order was the best. So inspired I bought one for a friend.

The folks at Craven are 5 star! Loved the Platypus for my Abarth and the customer service I receive from Craven is nothing short of fantastic. Highly recommended! The installation process is super simple too.

The front licence plate issue for fiat is a serious one. My dealer was singularly unhelpful and in truth did not have a clue. This product is an excellent solution. It took less than five minutes to install is sturdy and the front licence plate is very securely fastened. Very highly recommended.
Fits 2016 Fiat 500x Easy and a simple installation due to vehicle tow hooks
Posted by Suz on 28th Oct 2015
The Fiat 500x Easy vehicle already has tow hooks in place. All you need do is remove the plastic tow hook cover and install the Platypus license plate mount CRFA-1169-X. Installation took a few minutes.
Good product but it could be greatly improved

I gave it four stars because so far its the best solution that I've found that doesn't involve drilling holes in the bumper.
But it could be much better.
Here are some suggestions:
1. Make it out of steel instead of aluminum so it is more rigid.
2. Offset it so the license is centered. (you should be able to do that and still use the same mounting holes)
3. Wrap it more closely to the bumper so you don't lose an inch of clearance.
4. Have the license end up just a little higher for the same reason as above.
The concept is excellent, and if you were to improve it with the suggestions above I would re-buy it to replace the product I bought.
The loss of clearance is my biggest concern as it is scraping the ground occasionally going up driveways.
Fits 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk perfectly!
Posted by Tony on 7th Aug 2015
The Craven Speed staff & the Fiat Platypus product (Fiat Abarth/Turbo) make a wonderful combination! As the Renegade Trailhawk already has tow hooks in place, the Jeep product won't work as there isn't a threaded receptacle in stock tow hook location used for the Jeep Renegade. The Fiat Abarth bracket fits perfectly with stock equipment and no modifications. Thanks Craven Speed!

My wife is much happy with the new front end license plate holder. No holes in the bumper! Only took me a few minutes with a #4 metric hex wrench. I found a matching black frame at wally world. Thanks dudes
Easy installation, looks great!

Absolute perfect product for my "new to me" 2012 Fiat 500 Sport. Install took all of five minutes - even in 15 degree weather - and the resulting look and utility is excellent. Solid product reflects pride in manufacture. Great design and use of existing mounting locations and hardware on the vehicle. Great!
Great solution to Ugly

Mount for Fiat 500T was easy to install.I'm fussy, so I had to slightly adjust the bends to get the look I wanted. Very happy with the finished install.
500L Front License Bracket...PERFECT
Posted by Randalli on 7th Jan 2015
The bracket for my 500L front license plate was made sturdy, extremely easy to install, is mounted in a perfect location, and best of all...no modification to the vehicle at all. I am extremely pleased with it.
So far, so very good.

The concept is a good one; boring license plat screws into some of the plastic cars with pleasant design elements was not ever a good way to treat the overall esthetics of today's vehicles. But, esthetics caused me to modify the new "Platypus" license plate bracket attaching points on our 2015 FIAT 500 "1957 Edition". The off-of-center mounting just wasn't satisfying. Some measuring, some drilling, a 6mm plastic spacer, stainless-steel washers, and one more Torx-head fastener has it mounted directly in the center of the front of the FIAT, echoing the center mounted rear plate.
Easy to install, fits great!!

Scrapes a little, but my car is slammed, great quality, looks clean, love it!!
Easy, clean, awesome!!

Easy to install just 5 min and few tools. No mess around, no drilling required, all clean. Awesome product very well done!!
The Platypus License Holder is brilliant

I know others have said "should have been that way from the factory", and it certainly rings true in this case. Who wants to butcher the perfect frontend just to mount a mandated front plate? Nobody would, given options. This is the only option in my book. Very simple to install and rhino-tough. I just got the plates for my 2013 Abarth yesterday, so this is timely feedback. I highly recommend.
Best Choice available

I really like the design of the license plate holder. This was the newly modified license plate holder. I had to slightly bend the holder so the rubber bumper would rest against the bottom of the car so it would rest solidly and not want to bounce around while driving. Got a good idea going but looks like some slight bends in the holder would help it sit better and more solid. Seem like a small extra shaping of the holder could position it in the middle of the car. The first thing the wife said is that looks weird where it is. Overall it still beats putting holes in my bumper. Someone might look at what it would take to offer an option of a holder that does sit in the middle of the car. The installation couldn't of been easier and it was a good use of available screws. I don't think I will have any problems with being pulled off from driving in high winds. I have a 2013 Abarth, wish I had found the Platypus before having mounted a license plate holder on my wife's 2013 Fiat 500 bumper. I would of given a 5 star rating if I hadn't had to slight reshape to get a solid fit, other than that this was a perfect choice. Good idea Cravenspeed!!!!
Bought this for my girlfriend's lounge
Posted by Mathew on 26th Sep 2013
i thought she'd like it as much as i did, even though the (many not all lol) ladies don't take their cars as seriously as us guys...however, she was most pleased with this and was actually worried about the default setting to have drilled into the front bumper.

better than drilling holes into your front bumper!

Did not want to drills hole in my bumber. What a great solution Platypus offers! I totally concur with Andy's write up! Only problem installing was mine. Did it at dusk without lights!
Looks Great & Protects Bumper
Posted by Andy on 1st Aug 2013
Bought the raised Platypus for my Abarth. My bumper didn't come drilled (which I'm thankful for). The Platypus installed in just minutes after I opened the box. From the photos I was curious if I could still use a plate frame when mounting to the Platypus and I could. The location of this also has saved my bumper now a number of times. I have an issue with pulling up to close to a parking curb and it hits the Platypus instead of my bumper. Love it. Just bend it back into shape and you can't even tell. Plus no damage to the bumper.

Quality metal construction, a light and solid functional common sense alternative to putting two holes in the bumper of a Fiat Abarth. A no-brainer purchase that is literally worth every penny spent on it. The installation takes less than five minutes! Kudos to CravenSpeed for another well thought out engineering marvel.
Great company, great mount !
Posted by Mareli on 27th Jul 2013
I bought a license plate mount for a 2013 Fiat Pop C, contacted the company regarding the fit and they suggested I send it back so they could redesign it. Within 3 weeks I had a new mount that fit perfectly. My only suggestion is to have metal nuts instead of the plastic ones supplied to mount a license plate.the plastic ones strip out very easly
What year/model is your fiat?
Posted by Andrew on 21st Jun 2013
The mount is sturdy and lightweight. It looks like it would be perfect. I have a 2013 100% stock off the lot Fiat pop base model, and this frame did not fit my car. The 2013s come with a lip on the front bumper that does not allow this mount to fit. I am giving 4/5 because of the great customer service from Cravenspeed, as well as it looks as though it would fit and look great on cars without this lip. Check your car to make sure the bottom of the front bumper out to the from is completely flat before buying this mount.
"It just works"

This Platypus is just awesome... finally solved my SO CAL front Lic Plate woes, and yet keeps the plate out of the way visually, and no holes in my front bumper on my 2013 Abarth! Everything is well made, packaged well with excellent instructions. The install took 3 minutes!
Posted by Unknown on 1st Feb 2013
easy enough to assemble, but i had to make it out to the dealer for installation.
Just what the doctor ordered

This was the perfect bracket to attach the front license plate! The lack of instructions was a little bothersome... luckily I possessed a special allen wrench set and screws to attach the plate!
