FlexPod Modules

$39.95

Usually Ships Next Business Day
Modules are available 'A La Carte'
The FlexPod system allows you add all kinds of devices and gauges right where you need them. There are modules that allow the easy attachment of some of the premiere GPS devices, SmartPhones, Satellite Radios and other devices on the market.
Don't Forget The Mounting Bracket!
Before you choose you module you will need one of our FlexPod Mounting Brackets (X , Z , W, R)
The module attaches directly to any of our brackets. From the attachment point on the bracket it can pivot to put your device in the location of your choice. Most of the brackets are also reversible allowing you to mount the device to right or left of the tachometer.
GPS Modules
A GPS is great tool to have at your fingertips whenever you are driving. In order to get the most out of it, you'll need to be able to both see it and adjust it easily from the drivers seat. Using our FlexPod mounting system, you can have your GPS right where you want it (and where it gets great satellite reception). Our GPS modules make use of your existing suction cup mount but eliminate the suction cup. We provide a new ball and socket machined from 6061 aluminum and anodized black. You pull the suction cup mount apart at the ball on socket and pop it onto the FlexPod module. That way you have a safe factory made clip for your device and you will retain all the adjust-ability of the factory mount as well. There are several advantages of this system over the original suction cup mount.
  • Better location for use and it does not obstruct your view of the road
  • The unit will not fall off the windshield while you are driving
  • Reduced chance of theft since window breakers look for the suction cups
Phone Cradles
There are a variety of reasons why you would want your phone in a visible location while you are driving. With the FlexPod system, you can keep your eyes on the road and still take advantage of the things your phone has to offer. We have phone cradles designed specifically for all generations of iPhones, and for the Galaxy Note II. Our cradles are injected molded to fit each phone perfectly, while still allowing you to remove it quickly and easily. We now even offer a mount for the Galaxy Note II with an integrated case. Use the case on your Note II day-to-day, and just slip it in the mount when you're ready to use it in your MINI. All of our cradles can be rotated vertically or horizontally so you can utilize the full range of features on your device. For other models of smartphones, check out our Universal Scissor Cradle described below. Or contact us and we may be able to provide a custom fit cradle for your smartphone. With the module installed on your car you will be able to;
  • Dial with one hand on the wheel
  • See the map so you can follow GPS directions
  • See who is calling or make a call out of your address book
  • Choose and listen to music on your device
The Universal Scissor Cradle
Our Universal Scissor Cradle is designed to hold all kinds of devices about the size of a smart phone or GPS. It's a perfect solution for most smartphones on the market, with or without a case. It is also ideal for mounting gauges or accessories that our other mounts are not compatible with. The Scissor is best for gripping devices over 55 mm but less than 75 mm wide.
Sirius Radio, ScanGauge and Other Devices
We have not limited the FlexPod to the phones and GPS devices listed above. There is a module just like the GPS modules above that is suitable for Sirius Satellite Radios. Just like the GPS it utilizes the clip that comes with the radio and attaches at the ball and socket joint.

We also have two options available for the ScanGauge II. The Scissor version is just like our Universal Scissor, but is designed specifically for the dimensions of the ScanGauge II. The custom cradle mount uses a friction fit so you can still remove the device and use it in other vehicles. The plug fits right through the back of the cradle it help keep it in place while you drive.

  1. Excellent function, but a little odd-looking

Posted by Slave to Felines on 2nd Apr 2013

I bought two scissor cradles, one for my ScanGauge and one for an iPhone in a case. They work quite well, and position the devices where it is easy to look at them quickly while driving. This is a much better solution for navigation and real-time instrument feedback than anything in the center stack!

The pieces are sturdy and would probably hold a dozen or more devices each, and never notice the load.

There is one very minor problem with the cradle, and a couple of tiny quibbles. The minor problem is with the location of the device in the cradle. The iPhone has to sit a little higher than I would prefer in order for the cradle to not hit the volume buttons. And the ScanGauge has to sit slightly to the right in order to use the plug on the back of the unit.

Those are probably not issues for anyone but the most OCD people, though.

    The minor quibbles:
    - It would be nice if the mounting screws were ones that could be tightened by hand, or at least were Torx-head screws to match the others in the MINI.
    - It would be nice to have some built-in way to keep the cords neat, rather than having to zip-tie them to the arms myself.
    - The scissors looks weird. Especially when the device isn't in the cradle, it looks like a spider jumping off of the dashboard at you! The external springs look a bit out of place as well. If they were black to match the rest of the cradle, that might be better. Or if they were a clock-type flat spring instead of a long coil, they could be inside the middle of the cradle instead of out along the arms.

Like I said, those are minor quibbles. The pieces function excellently, and are a vast improvement over other solutions I have seen.

  2. Fantastic solution for iPhone in my Mini

Posted by Steve on 21st Dec 2012

I had purchased a mount for my Garmin GPS, but when Google Maps came out for my iPhone, I wanted to use that instead. Because I use a case with my iPhone, I chose the scissor mount. Not only does it work perfectly, but there is an added bonus of having the phone front and center. I didn't realize how handy it was to have the phone right there, and see the notifications as they come in without having to fish the phone out of my pocket.

The build quality is exceptional, and wish I could expect products built this well from everyone. While it seemed a bit pricey when I ordered it, there is no question that this is built to last, and worth every penny.

  3. The best! Glad I found your product a few iPhone models ago!

Posted by Angie on 2nd Nov 2012

Simply the best iPhone mounts. Just as satisfied with the mount for the iPhone 5 as I was with my two previous models. The quality of your products easily guarantees that they will outlast my phones! We are lucky enough to live close to your location so that my husband was able to get some hands on help to modify a mount for where he wanted it in his vehicle. Solid product. Outstanding customer service. And I get to support a local company! Who could ask for more?!
