Easy to Use

-The handle is lathe crafted 6061 Aircraft aluminum and is powder coated red.
-The shaft is flexible spring made from 302 stainless steel. This makes the trip down the snaking tube so much smoother than the stock dipstick.
-The bottom sinker with the oil level meter on it is all stainless. We have cut 6 grooves into the sinker and they each catch a bit of oil.
-You can see from the photo above that it is obvious which one has been dipped into oil and which one hasn't.

Fitment

We have a dipstick for many MINI models, now including all second generation MINI's.
The First Generation dipstick will only fit MINIs with a supercharged engine. To order the dipstick for a Cabrio S (2005-2008), select "Cooper S R53" from the menu.

The Second Generation dipstick will fit ALL Second Generation MINIs, including the Clubman, Coupe, Roadster and Countryman, with or without a turbocharged engine.

A must for any Gen 1 owner

I was on my third OEM dipstick when I purchased this one from Craven. The only drawback is that it is a little difficult to read. I've only had it for two weeks, though, and I'm sure I'll get used to it. The best thing, is that it won't break off inside the car, a concern for Gen 1 owners. The handle does get warm and it seems to stay warmer a little longer than you would usually let the car sit before checking the oil. It isn't unbearable, though. Why didn't MINI think of this years ago? Thanks, Craven! You guys are the best!
Handle get very hot

I was surprised when I received the package at the size of the box. I didn't realize that the dipstick would be flexible. I installed it and it worked fine and was much easier to read the oil level than the stock stick. I checked the oil level again after driving and was surprised again that the red handle/knob was made of a material that conducted so much heat and was too hot to touch. I don't think the stock stick got as hot. I had to use a rag to hold the handle and check the oil. I'll be using two rags to check the oil from now on. A small price I guess for an accurate oil level reading.

I too was surprised by the small box. Its nicely made and it does what its supposed to do. Another excellent Craven Speed product for my MINI!!

Be careful when checking the oil if the engine is still warm. The red top is metal not plastic and does get a bit warm.

Far better than the original dipstick which is nearly impossible to read. The only change I would make is to make the end of the stick an even lighter color to make the contrast deeper when reading the oil level.

I was a bit surprised when it arrived and saw that it was a flexible dipstick and not solid like the original. But it works great!

Cravens new generation dipstick is a nice upgrade to the stock model. The flexible craven dipstick and clear markings make life easier when checking the oil level.
Could one live without it? Yes,but why not make your life a little simpler. Glad I have one in my Clubman.

Amazing dipstick, it was a perfect replacement for my stock dipstick. The fit and finish is top notch! The dipstick is more a work of art than a dirty old dipstick, but it works like a champ. It performs flawlessly, always pulling just the right amount of oil from the oil pan. I don't remember having a dipstick that I have held in such high esteen! Thank you Craven Speed for making such an amazing dipstick.

Replacing that hard to use, impossible to read dipstick with this high quality one is going to make the chore so much easier! It fits perfectly, is beautifully made, and the handle fits snugly into the channel. It isn't a struggle to get in and out, and is so easy to read that I couldn't believe the difference. Thank you!
