Better Than The Stock MINI Dipstick
It's a Quick Read
We created our Dipper to read just like the stock one. The lowest groove indicates you need to add approx. 1 quart of oil, the middle point indicates about 1/2 quart of oil, and the top groove means your oil is full.
Fits Almost All MINIs
Our second gen model fits all prince N14 and N18 engines. That means if you have a Countryman, Clubman, Coupe or Roadster it does not matter if it is a base, S or JCW model this dipstick will be perfect. Some goes for any hatchback MINI Coopers from 2007 to 2014 and convertibles from 2009 to 2014.
If you have a first generation MINI, then we can only supply a dipstick if you have the supercharged S or JCW model. It's nothing against the 'Justa Coopers,' only that there are not as many around these days!
Disclaimer Alert! Oven mitts should never come into the equation, but please be careful touching anything that close to your Turbo!

finally, i know how much oil is(n't) in my Mini.
Restored my faith in the car!
Mini's use a lot of oil and keeping oil level up is the best way to prolong the timing chain guides' life.
thanks to everyone involved in creating and producing this product!

The factory-provided dipstick for checking engine oil has always been an uncertain measurement for me. Having heard about the Craven Speed being better, I finally ordered one and I agree that the results are much higher confidence. I'm glad I got it.

The Craven Speed replacement MINI dipstick is far superior to the original. Much easier to read the oil level, and it's made of very high quality materials.

I bought an OEM replacement dipstick because it was so much cheaper than this one...it broke on the third use so I spent the money and bought one of these. You would think with all of their engineering capabilities, BMW could have come up with a solution that works as good as this one does.

I finally gave up on the original MINI dipstick when I took the car to the shop and the service person needed over three attempts to read the oil level. If your own employees can't even read it there's a problem.
The CravenSpeed is a little weird at first because the stick is so slinky-flexible, but it slides in and out of the tube very easily. This means you won't be scraping the sides of the tube and overestimating the amount of oil you have. The actual meter has grooves which make measuring the exact amount you need to add very easy. If your car burns oil very fast like mine, the oil will always be light-colored so you'll still need direct sunlight or a shop towel to see the level. The one major con is the red handle (and the stick) gets extremely hot; never handle it with your bare fingers. Otherwise I recommend this hands-down over the MINI version.

I wondered why this item was so expensive until I pulled it from the box and put it into the Dipstick shroud. Works like it was greased with butter. Easy to read the oil level and wipe off. I should have baught it as my first upgrade for "Samantha" (My R56). Absolutly love it!!!

IT'S O.K. PUTTING THE DIPSTICK IN
BUT TAKING IT OUT. IT GETS A LITTLE
MESSE IF YOU DON'T COVER IT WITH
A RAG O PAPER TOWEL, WHILE PULLING
THE DIPSTICK OUT.

I have a 2008 Mini Clubman S, and it's Awesome ofcourse... but the only problem was that I couldn't tell what the oil level was.
I tried so many different ways, from laying the original dipstick on napkins, paper towels, using the sun, or shining a light on it..
And I just couldn't tell the difference...
I read about the CravenSpeed dipstick and just to solve my fustration, decided to make the purchase..
Sure it might be expensive to some, but it's less expensive than finding out you have less oil than you thought and creating an issue with your engine. (my car is out of warranty)
I installed it no sweat ;-).. and it's SUPER EASY to see your oil levels.
So, I'm a happy camper.
