Easy to Use

-The handle is lathe crafted 6061 Aircraft aluminum and is powder coated red.
-The shaft is flexible spring made from 302 stainless steel. This makes the trip down the snaking tube so much smoother than the stock dipstick.
-The bottom sinker with the oil level meter on it is all stainless. We have cut grooves into the sinker and they each catch a bit of oil.
-The lowest groove indicates you need to add approx. 1 quart of oil, the middle point indicates about 1/2 quart of oil, and the top groove means your oil is full.

Fitment

We have a dipstick for many MINI models, now including all second generation MINI's.
The First Generation dipstick will only fit MINIs with a supercharged engine. To order the dipstick for a Cabrio S (2005-2008), select "Cooper S R53" from the menu.

The Second Generation dipstick will fit ALL Second Generation MINIs, including the Clubman, Coupe, Roadster and Countryman, with or without a turbocharged engine.

Disclaimer!

-The MINI Dipstick handle can get very hot.
-Never touch the hot handle with your bare hands, instead use a rag or something similar to protect yourself.

The original oil dipstick on my 2006 R53 broke about 7" down and was literally hanging by a thread. From new it was always difficult to insert, requiring some twisting, pulling and pushing. It eventually gave up.

When I discovered the break, I carefully replaced it and immediately went searching for a replacement. An OEM replacement cost ~$20.00. During my search I decided to check into the Cravenspeed item. For only $55 more you get a quality product that will likely never need replaced. It also dresses up the engine compartment. The dipstick slid into the tube like a jeweled watch. Never thought I would get excited about an oil dipstick, but there you have it. Get one before your OEM breaks!

I never thought I would buy an aftermarket oil dipstick but I did. The oem dipstick was clumsy and difficult to read. Once I received my Craven dipstick I use it right away ( of course). It turned out my engine oil level was to high. I can't believe I overfilled my engine. So I drained out the excess oil and my Mini is safe and it runs and sound a lot better.

The old one was about to break in half, this is a great product that slides in much easier and is a lot easier to read.

Very good dipstick, one of the first mods I did to my recently acquired car. A little on the expensive side but if I can save 2 hours of work when the dipstick breaks, it's probably worth it.

Hello BMW - This is what a real dipstick looks like. Imagine that, a dipstick where you can actually tell how much oil is in your car. What a novel idea.

This replacement is infinitely better than the OEM dipstick. Now I can actually get an accurate reading.
