When I first saw this product I was intrigued. I loved the idea of using an existing factory mount point. The cylinder is made from quality steel and is very solid. When securely mounted to the A-pillar grab handle it does not move. The actual iPhone cradle holds the phone well and in place but only allows you to mount it with the iPhone in one direction - no biggie.
The issue I am having is that the collar which connects the iPhone cradle to the metal shaft is made of plastic which limits how tight one can fasten the cradle to the cylinder with out destroying it. This results in the phone being loose...not so loose that it "wilts" but loose that you cannot press physical iPhone buttons [home, volume] without the unit moving forcing you to use wrap you finger around the unit.
Also, keep in mind that you have 2 choices when mounting this kit: You can Dremel a hole through the factory A-pillar grab handle bolt cover and pass the cylinder thorough it for a nice clean look or you leave it off permanently exposing the inside of the grab handle. For type-A folks the former is the only way to go!
I need to be able to tighten this so it does not move but cannot do so with the plastic collar. Any suggestions from the Craven Speed Team would be most helpful.
Suggested improvements: make the collar out of metal.
