The **GENERATION** Crank Bolt Weak Point

Every **MAKE** **MODEL** **GENERATION** has a single bolt clamping the pulley hub and timing chain sprocket to the crankshaft — and over the miles, it can work itself loose. When it does, the sprocket can shift on the crank, throw your timing out, and hand you bent valves, cracked pistons, or a dead engine. It's a well-known **GENERATION** failure point, and like most of them, it gives no warning until it's already a four-figure repair. The good news: unlike the timing chain tensioner, this is one you can permanently take off the table.

You don't need a rattle, a warning light, or a symptom to justify this. The CravenSpeed Crank Bolt Lockdown Plate is preventive by design — a one-time part that costs less than a nice dinner and protects an engine worth thousands. Bolt it on once and never think about that crank bolt again.

How the Lockdown Works

The fix is refreshingly simple. The plate installs onto the crank pulley via the included extended pulley bolts. A triangular cutout in the center engages the hex head of the crank bolt, making it physically impossible for the bolt to back out. No electronics, no maintenance, no second-guessing — problem permanently solved.

Bolt-On in Minutes

Installation is a snap, especially if you're already fitting one of our lightweight crank pulleys — do both at once and save yourself a second job. Slide the plate over the hub bolt, then fasten the plate and pulley to the hub with the included high-strength grade 10.9 bolts. We even include the Loc-Tite to keep the pulley bolts put. The plate itself is CNC machined in the USA from 6061 aluminum and anodized in classic CravenSpeed red.
