What’s Up With Your Oil?

Monitoring oil pressure is the easiest way to get an idea of the general health of the engine in your ND Miata. Knowing when the pressure is irregularly high or low can save your engine from catastrophic damage. Keeping an eye on oil temperature, especially in the ND1, can inform you on when it’s ok to push or if it’s time for a cool down lap. This bolt on adapter provides two strategically located ports for installing temperature and pressure senders for your gauges.

Ultimate Oil Monitoring

We went spelunking into the depths of the sophisticated oiling system found in the ND miata in search of an ideal location for installing temperature and pressure sensors. Eventually we found the oil filter housing and decided it was an excellent location for measuring oil parameters. It is located just downstream of the oil pump right before the oil is distributed to the various moving parts of the engine. This location will provide you with the most relevant information about the oil in your engine.

Install

If you can change your oil, you can install this adapter! The adapter installs between the oil filter housing and the engine block. Since installation requires draining the oil, you’ll want to install this part when it’s time for your next oil change. The adapter has two marked ⅛” NPT ports for installing most gauge senders. We include two plugs that can be used in case you don’t need to use both ports, or don’t have senders ready when you install the adapter.
